HCCSC retains overall grade of B

The Indiana Department of Education released 2015 corporation accountability grades and the Huntington County Community School Corporation stayed steady, earning a B.

The final grades were approved by the State Board of Education during its Feb. 3 board meeting.

HCCSC has had a B rating since 2012, when it pulled its grade up from a C in 2011.

“After more than 18 months spent advocating on behalf of Hoosier students, educators and schools, Indiana’s education community has been held harmless as we transitioned to more rigorous standards and a more rigorous, state-mandated, ISTEP+ assessment,” said Glenda Ritz, Indiana superintendent of public instruction.

Grades for parochial school systems were not included.
