Two Huntington high school seniors graduated from the seminary program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 5.

The graduates are Hannah Ringo, from Huntington North High School, and Hugh Miller, who was homeschooled and also attended Ivy Tech.

Over four years of high school, they studied the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and history of the Latter-day Saint faith in a daily 50-minute class in the church’s Huntington chapel.

In order to earn their graduation certificates, the students had to attend the classes all four years of high school with at least 80 percent attendance and complete all required course study.

Ten other Huntington area high school students were also honored for completing the course of study this past year.

Miller plans to serve a full-time mission for the church in Tucson, AZ, for two years.

The seminary program is a worldwide, four-year religious educational program for youth ages 14 through 18 and currently enrolls more than 397,000 students. It is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but is open to teenagers of all faiths.
