The Huntington County Council ordered that over $90,000 in tax overbillings be repaid at its meeting on Monday, July 18.
The largest repayments, totaling $40,393.62 and $20,568.12, went to Our Sunday Visitor and Life Church, respectively. The Knights of Columbus received $611.54.
The overbillings, which added up to $90,202.90, were the result of a taxing software malfunction.
Council discussed swit-ching to Low Taxing Software, but ultimately decided to table a decision to next year. The board opted to wait so it could see if the ability to bill for drains would be implemented in Low.
