Seniors get invite to carry-in luncheon on Aug. 25

Those age 50 and older are invited to the Scenic Senior Carry-in Luncheon at Ouabache State Park on Aug. 25.

Sponsored by the Friends of Ouabache group, the lunch is at noon in the Lodge Recreation Building.

After the meal, Jody Heaston, Indiana State Parks volunteer coordinator, will present a program about the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and its impact at Ouabache State Park. Also, people will get to view some photos of the park from the 1930s and hear the latest on the fire tower fund-raising status.

Attendees should bring their own table service, a prepared dish to share and a small donation to help defray costs of the provided main dish.

To register, or for more information, call Upper Wabash Interpretive Services at 468-2127 or email trody@dnr.in.gov.

A park entrance fee or annual entrance permit applies.

Ouabache State Park  is at 4930 E. Ind.-201, Bluffton.
