CFS seeks grilling contest entrants

Community and Family Services of Huntington County is holding a Grill Masters competition on Sept. 17 at Drover Park, in Huntington, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the nonprofit’s Empowering Communities to Unite program, which helps families restore services to their home or have services established in their home.

At the event, attendees may have a grilled item of their choice, side dish, dessert and drink for a small fee. Another grilled item can be added for an additional fee.

A family-friendly event, the park’s splash pad will be turned on and a DJ will be playing music. There will be other activities going on as well.

The deadline for businesses to become a grilling contestant or to make a donation is today, Thursday, Aug. 25.

Each contestant will receive two shirts with all of the event’s contributors listed on the back.

The Grill Master grand champion will a receive a $25 gift certificate from The Meat Shop and a trophy.
