Indiana Third District Congressman Jim Banks has been named to the steering committee for the Republican Study Committee (RSC), the leading caucus of conservative Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I am honored to have been named to the steering committee of the Republican Study Committee,” Banks said. “In this role, I look forward to fighting for conservative solutions to the biggest challenges our nation faces. I am excited to dive in and get to work.”

“We have a unique opportunity in the 115th Congress to do more than simply make an argument — we have the opportunity to make a positive, lasting difference in all of our communities,” RSC Chairman Mark Walker said. “I am proud to officially name Rep. Jim Banks as the freshman representative on the Republican Study Committee’s Steering Committee.

“He will serve as a trusted advisor as we advance pro-active, conservative policies with a genuine approach and a strong voice that addresses the challenges facing our nation. I am privileged to work with Jim and appreciate his guidance and leadership.”

The Republican Study Committee has served as the leading conservative caucus of House Republicans since its founding in 1973. Its purpose is to bring like-minded U.S. Representatives together to promote principled legislation that limits the scope of government, strengthens national defense, invigorates America’s economy, protects traditional values and balances the national budget.
