Vocalist Shannon Per-singer, backed by pianist Eric Clancy’s jazz trio, will present an evening of swing, pop and jazz on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cottage Event Center, in Roanoke.
The evening will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
Persinger performs regularly throughout the Fort Wayne area, with a repertoire that ranges from jazz to the hits of country icon Patsy Cline. Her musical library also includes Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, The Beatles and an impression of Michael Jackson performing “Billie Jean.”
Persinger has performed at The Chapel in Fort Wayne and at Fort Wayne’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Clancy, a former adjunct professor of jazz theory at Huntington University, has been a professional musician since the 1990s. In addition to performing, he teaches piano at Sweetwater Academy, in Fort Wayne. Clancy has been featured at JeFFFest in Huntington and at area jazz venues including Club Soda. He backed Ty Causey at the Three Rivers Festival.
Clancy’s trio also includes Michael Patterson on bass and Mark Vincenti on drums.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from Walnut Hill Catering and Events, of Fort Wayne. A cash bar will also be available.
