The Huntington North DECA group (Distributive Education Clubs of America) recently competed in the 2010 State Career Development Conference in Indianapolis. They are apart of the Marketing program through the Business department at the high school.

They had competed at the district level at Fort Wayne Snider in January and placed high enough to compete in Indianapolis.

David Ballard placed first at the district in Food Marketing and placed third in the state event. He had advanced to the International level competition, which will be held in Louisville, KY, on April 24-28.

Kourtney Johnson and Kelsey Bartrom won the team Hospitality event at the district competition and competed in that in Indianapolis.

Heidi Blocker and Aaron Wolf placed second at the district event in the team Financial Analysis and competed in that in Indianapolis as well.

Maria Santa and Parker Kramer placed seventh at the district for the team Travel and Tourism event and also moved on to the state level.

Richie Chadwick went to state as a voting delegate.
