Town of Andrews to have its annual spring clean-up on Friday, May 5

The Town of Andrews will hold its spring cleanup day on Friday, May 5.

Andrews residents must place items and weekly garbage out at the curb by 5 a.m. on that date for a one-time pickup. Once the truck has passed it will not return.

Accepted items include:

• Household generated garbage and trash.

• Bagged yard waste, not to exceed 35 pounds per bag.

• Carpet cut into 2-foot squares, not to exceed 35 pounds per bag.

Items that will not be accepted:

• Hazardous materials including household batteries, automotive tires, batteries, antifreeze, oil filters, used motor oil, anything containing Freon or other hazardous gases or liquids and liquid paint.

• Electronics.

• Large furniture or items that won’t break or bend.

• Appliances.

• Mattresses and box springs.

• Roofing shingles, demolition or construction debris.

• Cement blocks, dirt, rocks or gravel.

• Lumber and railroad ties.

• Unbundled branches, or tree stumps greater than 3 feet in length.

• Items that the driver cannot lift.
