EXPO to offer food booths, entertainment

Bob Zahm, of Huntington Heating and Cooling, the electricity chairman for the Huntington County EXPO, sets booth placements for the event, to be held Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and 21, at the Merillat fieldhouse at Huntington University. Photo provided.

Four food booths and two days' worth of stage entertainment await visitors to the Huntington County EXPO on Saturday, March 20, and Sunday, March 21.

Food offerings will be by the American Business Women's Association Forks of the Wabash Chapter, Nick's Kitchen and Zesto, all of Huntington, and Sweet Cinnsations, of Roanoke.

The ABWA booth will have different features on each day. On Saturday the group will be serving Nelson's Chicken, ribs and potatoes. The Sunday menu will be Pizza Hut pizza.

The menu from Nick's Kitchen for the EXPO includes breaded tenderloins, chips, canned pop and sugar cream pie.

Zesto will feature cake and waffle cones, hot fudge sundaes, chili dogs, hot dogs, chips and pop.

Sweet Cinnsations is offering donuts, pie, giant cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, cookies, eclairs, crème horns, cream puffs and homemade bread.

As has been the norm in the past, the EXPO stage entertainment this year will be both informative and entertaining.

Kicking things off Saturday morning at 10 a.m. will be a seminar entitled "Social Networking for Business." Staff from Ad Design and Orion Solutions will explain what online marketing like Facebook, Youtube and others can do for business.

After the serious, the Joy Pleasers clowns will be going for laughs at 11 a.m., followed by the Huntington North High School dance team at 11:30 a.m. and Beverly Johnson's School of Dance at noon. The LBD Trio will perform at 1 p.m., and Glenda Giggy will finish up the Saturday session with a cooking segment entitled "Elegant Desserts Made Simple," starting at 2:30 p.m.

The Sunday stage session will start with a return by the LBD Trio at 12:30 p.m., followed by a performance by Miss Huntington Lauren Peters and the Kid's Kampus "Pie Throwing Contest" at 2 p.m.

Additionally, MarkleBank will be holding two seminars at its booth on Saturday. A seminar on savings and retirement will be held at 10 a.m., and a class on consumer credit will be held at 1 p.m.

As of press time, a total of 104 booths will be at the EXPO. Last-minute sign-ups include Huntington Communications and Quillen Bros. Windows.
