Flora earns McCurley Scholarship

The Huntington County Community Foundation has announced that Mallory Flora, of Huntington, is the recipient of the 2017 Gary W. McCurley Scholarship.

Flora, a rising sophomore at Indiana University, is majoring in marketing at the Kelley School of Business with an interest in international business. She is the daughter of Michelle and Michael Flora.

At Indiana University, she is a member of the Hutton Honors college student organization and continues to volunteer at Senior Pak, an organization that provides free groceries to older citizens.

Ken and Dottie McCurley established this scholarship in memory of their son, Gary. The award is presented annually to a high school graduating senior or non-traditional student who exemplifies the high academic achievement and Christian values of Gary McCurley, a 1975 graduate of Huntington North High School. Applicants must be residents of Huntington County with a minimum grade point average or equivalent of 10.0 on an 11.0 scale or in the top 10 percent of their class.
