Phil Rich Scholarship is awarded to Trevor Szelis

The Huntington County Community Foundation has announced that Trevor Szelis, of Huntington, is the recipient of the 2017 Philip Rich Memorial Scholarship.

Szelis, a graduating senior from Huntington North High School, will be attending Trine University majoring in civil engineering. He is the son of Amy and Trent Szelis.

A member of the HNHS National Honor Society, Szelis has been involved in his church youth group, Campus Life, HNHS football, Huntington County Baseball, YMCA KIM League basketball, Salvation Army basketball and Champs Academy. His volunteer activities include middle school Campus Life, coaching KIM League basketball, church mission trips, Blessings in a Backpack, soup kitchen and Operation Backyard.

Established by Marilou Wardrop and friends of Rich, the Philip Rich Memorial Scholarship is designed to assist a deserving Huntington North male senior athlete with college expenses.
