Huntington High School Class of 1962 to hold its 55-year reunion on Sept. 16-17 with multiple events

The Huntington High School Class of 1962 will hold its 55-year reunion Sept. 16 and 17.

The first event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Class members should meet in the garden room at Pizza Hut. Lunch is optional. The group will visit the Veterans Memorial at Huntington’s Memorial Park to honor classmates who served the country. A caravan tour is also planned.

The group will also visit Two-EE’s Winery, in Roanoke, on Sept. 16. Wine tastings, nonalcoholic slushies and appetizers will be available. Class members can stay at the winery to hear the live music or visit the shops in Roanoke.

For the final event on Sept. 16, the group will meet at Mecates in Huntington. A private room has been reserved. Appetizers will be provided, and each person attending will purchase their own drinks and dinner.

A cookout will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, at noon at the home of Steve and Rose Gesaman on Big Barbee Lake. Burgers, sliders and brats with all the trimmings will be provided. Those attending can bring a dish to share, drinks and folding chairs. Pontoon rides will be available.

Class members can join in one or all events. There is a charge for the weekend.
