Phelps to bring holiday concert to HU’s Merillat

Award-winning recording artist David Phelps will perform his Classic Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 8, at Huntington University’s Merillat Centre for the Arts.

Phelps and his seven-piece musical entourage will provide an evening of worship featuring many of the songs on his “O Holy Night” recording as well as his recently released “Freedom” recording.

The musical prodigy from Tomball, TX, earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Baylor University and became popular singing tenor with the Gaither Vocal Band. He has been performing contemporary Christian music for more than two decades.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Reserved seating concert tickets as well as VIP tickets are available. VIP tickets include dinner with HU President Dr. Sherilyn Emberton at 6 p.m., attendance at Phelps’ sound check and a question-and-answer session prior to dinner.
