Treasurer’s office open Nov. 4 for tax payments

The Huntington County Treasurer’s office will be open to accept property tax payments on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. to noon. Checks or cash are accepted in the office.

The last day to pay property taxes on time without a penalty is Nov. 13.

Taxpayers can also submit payments at Bippus State Bank, First Farmers Bank & Trust, First Federal Savings Bank, First Source Bank, iAB financial bank and Lake City Bank. A property tax statement must be submitted.

Payments can be mailed to Huntington County Treasurer, 201 N. Jefferson St. Room 104, Huntington, IN 46750.  The tax bill should be enclosed and the taxpayer’s phone number must be written on the check. If a receipt is requested, include a postage paid, self-addressed envelope. Mail that is postmarked with a date no later than Nov. 13 will be considered on time.

Credit or debit card tax payers must use the website, or call    800-809-5849. Charges apply when using credit or debit cards.

Credit and debit cards are not accepted in the treasurer’s office.

Payments can be made in the treasurer’s office on the first floor of the courthouse during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 4, 8 a.m. to noon.

The offices in the courthouse will be closed Friday, Nov. 10, in observance of Veterans Day.
