City life a century ago

Photo provided.

This photo taken in 1911 shows the Odd Fellows building on Franklin Street, in Huntington, just east of a saloon-restaurant and a grocery store. The Huntington County Courthouse is barely visible across the street to the right. An old cannon and a working water pump can be seen on the courthouse grounds. This photograph and other local artifacts can be seen at the Huntington County Historical Museum, 315 Court St., Huntington. Museum hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
