The Lassus Foundation and Roanoke Lions Club have teamed up to present donations to eight Roanoke community organizations.

The Lassus Foundation allows each of its stores to choose a charity in their community, and the Roanoke store asked the Roanoke Lions Club to assist in choosing which agencies to fund.

Lions member Doug Clark says the club supplemented the original Lassus donation and brought the total donation to $800. A check presentation was made at the Roanoke Lassus Handy Dandy store on Tuesday, Nov. 14, with donations of $100 each given to the following organizations:

• Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department.

• Roanoke Interfaith Church Council (food pantry).

• Roanoke Public Library.

• Roanoke Elementary School PTO.

• Roanoke Fall Festival Committee.

• Roanoke Youth Sports.

• Roanoke Elementary School Library/Media Ce-nter.

• Roanoke Fireworks Group.

“The goal of the Lassus Foundation donation is to impact the lives of as many Roanoke residents as possible,” says Lisa Southworth, local store manager.
