New Life fund-raising campaign on

The annual New Life Ministries benefit dinner and auction was held Nov. 16 at Cottage Event Center, in Roanoke, part of a campaign to raise $40,000 by the end of the year.

Donations to the fund-raising campaign can be made at newlifeministries or mailed to new Life Ministries at 313 E. Franklin St., Huntington, IN 46750.

The funds will support New Life’s various ministries, including the Ladies’ Life House, Life Recovery Group, New Life Meal Ministry and New Life Thrift Store. Funds will also support a women and children’s shelter set to open next year and a planned men’s house.

The Life Recovery Group, led by Rev. Jimi Staton, senior pastor, meets each Friday from 11 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the church’s main location, at the corner of Franklin and Guilford streets in Huntington.

The New Life Meal Ministry, headed by Bob Burnsworth, serves more than 20,000 meals each year. Meals are served every day of the year, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the week and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. To volunteer or make a donation, contact Burnsworth at 519-3637.

The New Life Thrift Store is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Special hours during the store’s after-Thanksgiving sale on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 24 and 25, are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
