HELP to award five scholarships for special health care students

Huntington County HELP Inc. for Disabled Citizens will award a minimum of five scholarships of up to $1,500 each to students who are working toward degrees in special health care fields.

Specific areas of training that will qualify for awards include speech and hearing, special education, physical and occupational therapy, nursing, pediatric, orthopedic and other medical and/or mental health specialties. Recipients, at the time scholarships are awarded, must be a college sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student; must be enrolled as a full-time student; and must be a resident of Huntington County.

To be considered for the HELP Scholarship all of the following must be included:

• Completed application.

• An official college transcript.

• A current letter of recommendation from a college professor/instructor or from an employer.

Scholarship applications will be accepted now, through March 9.
