Indiana Room head to discuss World Cat at upcoming genealogy society meet

The Huntington County Genealogy Society will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Indiana Room of the Huntington City-Township Public Library.

The guest speaker will be Sarah Kirby, the librarian in charge of the Indiana Room. Her topic will be “A Genealogist’s Introduction to World Cat.“

Kirby came to the library in December 2016 from Chicago, IL. Her diverse background includes having a career beginning in rocket science to library science.

Her presentation will describe what World Cat is, the ways to access it and some of the ways to find information.

World Cat started in 2014 and is an online union catalog of over 2 billion titles at 72,000 libraries in 172 countries and territories.

The meeting is open to the public and membership is not required to participate.

The library is located at 255 W. Park Drive, Huntington.
