ArtsExpress hits the road for its 26th year

Celebrating its 26th year, ArtsExpress 2018 hits the road through the ArtsExpress Roadshow.

Huntington Schools’ Festival of Fine Arts will morph one day into multiple events across the county.

Andrews Elementary launched the ArtsExpress Roadshow on Feb. 9 with more than 850 people in attendance. The schedule of remaining festivals are as follows:

• Lincoln Elementary – March 8, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Northwest Elementary – March 9, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• Flint Springs Elementary – April 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Salamonie School – April 25, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

• Lancaster Elementary – April 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Roanoke Elementary – May 17, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• Crestview Middle School – May 21, from 5:30 p.m. to TBD.

ArtsExpress 2018 includes well over 2,500 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Highlights of the festival will involve both the visual and performing arts. The event displays a variety of mediums and styles, including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, digital/mixed media and crafts.

ARTOME will be a new feature at many of the schools. Student artists select images to be professionally framed and made available for sale. Each school will customize their event; therefore, all will be unique.

Photo-op/selfie stations and make-it, take-it activities will also be available during many events.
