Lynnane Fager (right), an interpretive naturalist at Upper Wabash Interpretive Services, gives Ellie Immitt, 2, of Wabash, and her mom, Rebecca Immitt, an up-close encounter with a live red-tailed hawk. The introduction was made Wednesday, Feb. 28, during the Salamonie Preschool event on hawks and eagles at the Salamonie Interpretive Center. Preschool-age children learned some interesting facts about the raptors as well as sang songs, colored pictures and made a bird craft during the session.
