A hopeful economy

The fifth-graders at Roanoke Elementary School have been selling items at “The Hope Chest” on Fridays each week for the past couple of weeks. Shown are (front, from left) Sam Eckert and Jacob Landrigan and (back, from left) Elise Neher and Lucas Tallman. The Hope Chest is the fifth-grade project that corresponds with the grade’s economics unit. The students learn about producers/consumers, supply/demand and profits/losses. The money earned from The Hope Chest this year will go to Destiny Rescue to help abused children.
