Historic UMMH films set for March 23

Two historic 16-mm films will be shown at Heritage Pointe of Warren’s Applegate Chapel on Friday, March 23, at 7 p.m.

These movies were part of a documentary that noted TV co-anchor Chet Huntley, of the nightly news program “The Huntley/Brinkley Report,” did about what was then the United Methodist Memorial Home, now Heritage Pointe, in Warren.

Huntley wanted to report on health care facilities in America and UMMH was chosen to be the featured facility. He came in 1959 and returned with a follow-up visit in 1967.

The 1959 film was called “The Golden Years” and the 1967 film was called “A Place To Spend Autumn.”

The public is invited to come view these two films, which are 30 minutes apiece.

Chaplain Gerald Moreland will be handing out materials about the ministry of Heritage Pointe/-United Methodist Mem-
orial Home.
