Huntington University students help at Pathfinder for vol. week

Pathfinder Services kicked off National Volunteer Week on April 14 when a group of Huntington University Spring Work Day volunteers spent time at Pathfinder Kids Kampus.

The Huntington University volunteers worked with Pathfinder Kids Kampus staff to do some spring cleaning and preparation of teacher materials. National Volunteer Week, April 16 to 22, was about taking action and encouraging individuals and their respective communities to be at the center of social change – discovering and demonstrating their collective power to make a difference, note Pathfinder Services officials.

“We want to take this opportunity during National Volunteer Week to express our appreciation to all the individuals and groups who give of their time, talents and resources to support Pathfinder Services. More importantly, we hope our volunteers realize the difference they are making in people’s lives and that they are helping to create an inclusive community in which all people are valued and accepted,” stated Christina West, volunteer and donor relations coordinator at Pathfinder Services.

Volunteers throughout Huntington, Wabash, Allen and Marshall counties can learn more about service opportunities at Pathfinder Services by visiting www.pathfinderservices.org, emailing cwest@pathfinderservices.org or calling 355-2573.

National Volunteer Week was established in 1974 and has grown exponentially each year, with thousands of volunteer projects and special events scheduled throughout the week.
