County Lions clubs pass out scholarships to trio from HNHS

The Huntington County Lions Clubs of Andrews, Bippus, Huntington and Roanoke have awarded $500 scholarships to Huntington North High School seniors Mitchell Geller, Sarah Malone and Alyssa Voght.

Geller is the son of Jeff and Lisa Geller. He plans to attend Anderson University, in Anderson, with the goal of entering the medical field and becoming a doctor. He was involved in various extracurricular activities during his high school years, including sports and community service.

He graduates with a grade-point average of 10.47.

Malone is the daughter of Shawn and Heather Malone. She plans to attend Hanover College, in Hanover, and study geology. She will also play for the Hanover women’s golf team. During her time at Huntington North, Malone participated in golf, gymnastics and track, earning 10 scholar-athlete awards. She participated in National Honor Society.

Academically, she graduates with a 10.75 GPA.

Voght is the daughter of AJ and Renee Voght. She plans to attend Indiana University and become a physician’s assistant. She played softball for four years at Huntington North and was a scholar-athlete. Among the other activities she participated in at Huntington North were Campus Life, National Honor Society, student council, class council and freshman mentoring. She volunteered for Blessings in a Backpack, Girls on the Run, Love In the Name of Christ and more.

Academically, she graduates in the top 25 of her class.
