The Indiana Dream Center, in Huntington, recently purchased a used 12-passenger van for its programs, thanks to three agencies that provided grants.

United Way of Huntington County, Heartland REMC and the Huntington County Community Foundation provided the funds for both the purchase of the vehicle as well as the ability to place the IDC logo on the front doors.

The United Way granted IDC $5,600 by way of a special projects grant, which is given to agencies that make new initiatives in the areas of health and wellness, education or financial stability. Heartland REMC granted IDC $1,500 via its community service program called Operation Round Up while the Huntington County Community Foundation gave a matching grant of $6,950.

The van will be used to provide transportation to outpatient classes, service projects, church outreach, educational requirements and places of employment.
