What are your qualifications for the office that you seek?

I have 15-plus years of management/leadership experience in my job.

I am very involved in the yearly budgeting process and the daily program management needed to assure that the agency is working efficiently to stay within budget.

I have been a nurse for 35 years and part of my job is to assess patient needs and provide a realistic plan to provide assistance.

I have strong communication skills that will enhance the ability to communicate with departments and citizens of the community.

I feel it is of the utmost importance to treat people with dignity and respect regardless of their circumstance.

I grew up in Jackson Township, have lived in Jackson Township for most of my life and have a desire to give back to the community.

How can you, as an elected official, help local government operate efficiently as revenues decline?

I feel I can best assist local government by staying active in the administration of the budgets and actively looking for ways to operate efficiently as well as effectively.

Maintaining open lines of communication may assist in finding efficiencies and avoiding duplications. Governing units working together through open communication could lead to more efficient local government.

Aside from budget woes, what do you see as the major challenge facing the office you seek? How would you meet that challenge?

Improving communication between governing units in the township is very important. In addition, it is my perception that communication with members of the fire department has not been as open and positive as it could be. Gaining the trust of those individuals will be a big challenge if I should be elected to the position.
