Night meet, painting owls at Salamonie program

Visitors can enjoy a night meeting and painting owls at Salamonie’s “Silence of a Winter’s Night” event at Salamonie Lake’s Interpretive Center on Saturday, Jan. 19.

The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and includes a bowl of chili and a brownie and ice cream dessert. Guests can also meet the owls at Salamonie Raptor Center and paint a silent winter’s night scene – complete with an owl – on canvas, with artist Erica Tyson instructing.

The evening will conclude with an owl prowl where guests may possibly see and hear some of the local owls in their natural habitat.

There is a cost for the program, which is for ages 12 and up. Advanced registration is required because limited seating is available. For more information or to register, call 468-2127.

Upper Wabash Interpretive Services is located at 3691 S. New Holland Rd., Andrews.
