UWIS to host pair of eagle watches

Two eagle watches will be hosted by Upper Wabash Interpretive Services on Feb. 9 and 10.

Participants will meet at the Salamonie Interpretive Center at 3 p.m. on both days, listen to a brief overview of Indiana’s bald eagles and then caravan to a roost.

Participants should dress for the weather and bring binoculars, cameras and spotting scopes. Visual aid will also be available on-site. There will be some walking on a paved road. Those who need the available accessible parking should request it upon registration. Participants may choose to leave the site at any time.

For the safety of eagle watch participants, Frances Slocum Road between Ind.-124 and County Road 550E will be closed for this event.

For more information or to register call 468-2127.
