Eleven teachers from Riverview Middle School were awarded a total of $1,350 dollars in grants by CF Industries’ Superintendent Brad Gordon on Feb. 22.

Projects are all environmentally effective and provide students a combination of activities.

Danna Cotton spearheads a water study and management program geared toward 600 Riverview students. Marta Waldfogel, Mike Beaver, Diana Miller, Kelly Scutt, Brandi Cross, Rochelle Kennedy, Lisa Nightingale, Crystal Hippensteel and Sue Kornexl have teamed their efforts to study the preservation of pollinators on the school grounds with their 140 sixth graders. Patty Jacobs will conduct an all-grade 700 student level study of measurement as it impacts agriculture and the environment.

“It is our pleasure at CFI to support all teachers in the Huntington Corporation, but it is also impressive to note Riverview has been awarded the most grant money of any building again this year for at least 10 years running,” said Gordon. “Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do going above and beyond for our community’s children.”
