City of Huntington to host meeting April 22 to discuss downtown parking

The City of Huntington will host a public meeting on Monday, April 22, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the third floor of the Huntington City Building.

The purpose of this meeting is to obtain comments, concerns, suggestions and ideas that directly relate to parking within the downtown area. A consultant will be available to help guide the discussion and take notes.

On April 1, the City of Huntington Board of Public Works and Safety hired Walker Consultants, of Indianapolis, to perform a parking study of Huntington’s downtown. This study, among other things, will provide a document that quantifies the supply and demand of downtown parking and it will also quantify parking utilization patterns occurring across the downtown study area. The first step of this study is to gain stakeholder input.

Those who are unable to attend the meeting can email any concerns or comments to Anthony.goodnight@huntington.in.us or call 356-1400 ext. 2020.

All comments received will be forwarded to the consultant.
