The employees of Ecolab’s manufacturing plant in Huntington celebrated an important milestone on May 2: 1,000 safe days.

To celebrate the accomplishment, on May 9, plant leadership and senior leaders from the company’s supply chain function served employees a special barbecue meal during all three production shifts.

Approximately 100 employees work at the 150,000-square-foot Ecolab facility at 970 E. Tipton St., which produces soaps, sanitizers and cleaners that are used in hospitals, restaurants, retail and grocery stores and other facilities.

Plant Manager Kevin Wiig thanked employees for their commitment to safety and serving Ecolab customers.

“I’m proud of your energy, focus and commitment to keeping each other safe every single day,” he said.

Ecolab notes the company has a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Employees at the Huntington plant are trained on how to work safely and prevent injuries, and the team works to identify and address process safety risks.

“The safety of our employees, customers and communities is vitally important,” said Wiig. “From the way we operate, to the products we develop, to how we partner with customers, our goal is zero accidents and zero incidents.”
