Bennett sisters both receive Repp Scholarships

The Huntington County Community Foundation announces Joni Bennett and Kay Bennett, both from Huntington, as recipients of 2019 Carl Repp Scholarships totaling $750 each.

A rising senior at Huntington University, Joni Bennett is majoring in nursing. Kay Bennett is a rising second-year graduate student in the HU occupational therapy doctoral program. They are daughters of Karen and Thomas Bennett.

A dean’s list scholar, Joni Bennett has continued as a lighting trainer and leader with the Huntington North High School Auditorium crew and a children’s Sunday school teacher at College Park Church. She volunteers at HNHS helping with lighting for school shows and provides childcare services for Fresh Start, Celebrate Recovery and at College Park Church.

Kay Bennett, also a dean’s list scholar, is a member of HUSOTA, the Huntington University Student Occupational Therapy Association and served as an occupational therapy intern at Lutheran Hospital last summer.

The scholarship, funded anonymously to honor Carl Repp, is awarded to Huntington North graduates planning to attend Huntington University or current full-time Huntington University students.
