Hgtn. library announces reads for summer program

The Huntington City-Township Public Library announces the reads for its various book club meetings taking place in June. The Huntington library’s Summer Library Program theme this year is “Space,” so the books are focused on, or related to, the stars and planets.

Fiction Lovers’ Book Club is a club for adults who enjoy reading anything fiction. They will meet Tuesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Huntington branch to discuss “The Martian,” by Andy Weir.

The Markle branch library’s Book Club meets on Monday, June 24, at 5 p.m. They will be discussing “Open House,” by Elizabeth Berg. This club is for anyone in the Markle area who wants to read interesting books, fiction and non-fiction alike.

The brand new History Book Club will discuss “Failure Is Not an Option,” by Gene Kranz. They will meet at the Huntington library on Wednesday, June 26, at 6 p.m. This club features non-fiction books that cover any aspect of history, from broad subjects to specific events.

The Fabulous Foodies Cookbook Club will chat about cookbooks and recipes related to ice cream. This club will meet Thursday, June 27, at 6 p.m. at the Huntington branch. There will also be some freeze-dried ice cream, also known as astronaut ice cream, available to sample.

All book clubs at both the Huntington and Markle branches are open to any adult who wishes to join. To obtain a copy of the book to be discussed ahead of time, call the Reference Desk at the Huntington branch at 356-0824 or the main desk at the Markle branch, 758-3332.
