Librarian Kirby to speak of time working for NASA mission control

Sarah Kirby, genealogy librarian at the Huntington City-Township Public Library, will speak of her time working for NASA’s Mission Control at a community talk Thursday, June 13, at the Huntington branch. Starting at 6:15 p.m., Kirby will talk about her experience and answer questions, as well as showcase memorabilia from her time at America’s premier space program.

The Huntington branch will also show an early preview of PBS’s upcoming space documentary, “Chasing the Moon.” A film by Robert Stone, “Chasing the Moon” reimagines the race to the moon for a new generation, upending much of the conventional mythology surrounding the effort. This preview will begin at 5:30 p.m. before Kirby’s talk.

The Huntington branch is located at 255 W. Park Drive, Huntington.
