VFW Post 2689 honors Andrews teacher Till

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 Commander Cory McClure presented Andrews Elementary School teacher Stephanie Till with the 2018-2019 Smart-Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award in recognition of being selected the Indiana State Teacher of the Year winner in her grade level. The presentation was made on June 12.

Till has been a teacher for 22 years in the Huntington County Community School Corporation. She taught kindergarten at Northwest Elementary School for eight years, Title I at Andrews Elementary for two years and kindergarten at Andrews Elementary for 12 years.

Till has seven children, with two of her sons currently serving in the military. Adam Jensen is a first sergeant in the Army. He currently is a medic in the National Guard in Indianapolis. He was a medic in the 101st Airborne and served two one-year tours of duty in Iraq. Gregory Jensen is a major in the Marine Corps. He is a judge advocate and serves in Indianapolis.
