Huntington North sophomore Grossman wins state fiddle contest

Gracie Grossman won first place at the Indiana State Fair Fiddle Contest on Saturday, Aug. 10.  

She competed with three tunes – a hoedown, a waltz and a song of choice in the 12 to 17-year-old division of the competition, which is sponsored by Traditional Arts Indiana.

Grossman is a sophomore at Huntington North High School, and has been playing the fiddle for three years.  Throughout the year, she plays bluegrass music with her band, the Rust Belt Drifters, who will be playing at the Pioneer Festival in Huntington on Sept. 28 and 29.
