RRHP, Lake City Bank to host fin. ed courses

Rapid Rehousing & Homeless Prevention (RRHP) has partnered with Lake City Bank to offer a series of financial education courses, at no cost to registered attendees.

These are instructor-led sessions with hands-on exercises that will be offered twice monthly on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the RRHP office, 1255 Engle St., Huntington.

The course is open to Huntington House Shelter and Second Chance Recovery residents, RRHP clients and Huntington County residents who wish to enrich their lives by gaining knowledge of financial stability. Topics include budgeting, bill pay tips and tricks, financial services, credit, income vs. expense balance and more.

Class dates and topics are:

• Oct. 22 – “You Can Bank on It” – financial products, services and providers.

• Nov. 5 – “Your Income and Expenses” – how to track income and expenses.

• Nov. 19 – “Your Spending and Savings Plan” – how to develop a spending and savings plan and how to prioritize spending when money is short.

• Dec. 3 – “Your Savings” – saving money for expenses, goals and emergencies.

• Dec. 17 – “Credit Reports and Scores” – credit reports and scores, building productive credit histories and repairing and improving credit.
