State Sen. Zay attends ed reform conference

State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington) joined legislators from around the country for the annual National Summit on Education Reform. The Summit was hosted by Excel In Ed on Nov. 20 and 21, in San Diego, CA.

Nearly 1,000 state and national policymakers, education leaders and advocates gathered for the two-day summit. Attendees shared and learned about new trends, successful policies, evolving laws and recent improvements that are changing education for the better.

“Summits like this one provide important opportunities to discuss ways to advance education,” said Zay. “Together, we can continue to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed as they enter the workforce.”

Zay and senate Republican colleagues have made education a top priority, with a recently passed two-year state budget that includes new funding for K-12 schools.

Zay said he will continue to make K-12 education a top priority heading into the 2020 legislative session.
