Local Shrine Club announces circus essay winners

The Huntington County Shrine Club has announced the winners of its annual Shrine Circus essay.

Each child that attended the circus was invited to write an essay of not more than 150 words about what he or she enjoyed at the circus. The best essay from each class was brought to the Huntington County Shrine Club. From these essays, three grand prize winners were chosen from third grade, and three grand prize winners were selected from fourth grade.

Judging of the hand-written essays was primarily on content.

The winners are:
• Caelynn Baker, third grade from Lincoln Elementary.

• Landrie Scheiber, third grade from Horace Mann Elementary.

• Mia Halverstadt, third grade from Andrews Elementary.

• Alyssa Marz, fourth grade from Andrews Elementary.

• Logan Walter, fourth grade from Andrews Elementary.

• Sophia Mason, fourth grade from Horace Mann Elementary.
A dinner was held on Feb. 11 to honor the six winners.
