Board of Works approves sidewalk funding level

The Board of Public Works and Safety met Monday, April 20, and approved annual funding levels for the Sidewalk Replacement Program. This city program pays up to 50 percent of the cost residents incur to replace sidewalks on their properties.

The Board of Works resolution sets the maximum amount the city can pay per square foot. It also stipulates the city’s share cannot exceed half the total cost.

To qualify, property owners must first obtain a quote from a contractor, submit an application to the city and await written approval before work begins.

Program applications can be obtained by contacting Director of Public Works and Engineering Services Adam Cuttriss at 356-1400 ext. 2021 or adam.cuttriss@hunting ton.in.us.
