Wells Arts Council offers programs

The Creative Arts Council of Wells County will provide summer arts programming to the community. In addition to some returning programs, Creative Arts has new offerings for the 2021 summer.

Students ages 8 to 18 will have the opportunity to attend a two week Theater Intensive from Monday, June 7, to Friday, June 18. The Theater Intensive will culminate in three performances of Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.” on June 18 and 19. The performance has been adapted for young performers into a 1-hour production.  Auditions for the show are scheduled to take place May 8.

A new program being offered this summer is the Cecchetti USA Ballet Teacher Training program that will begin June 8. This program is for anyone over the age of 15 who wants to pursue a career in dance or teaching dance.

Participants will spend 10 weeks learning to teach young children and plan engaging, quality training in the studio. Following the summer session, a certification examination may be taken with the national organization, Cecchetti USA, to become an official teacher.
