Nearly 5,000 votes from residents of Huntington County determined the winners of Beacon Credit Union’s 10th annual Project Spotlight program. Because of the engagement of the community, Beacon Credit Union will be donating $1,750 to three charitable organizations/projects in Huntington County.

The winners for 2021 are:

• First place: Drake Goetz Memorial Park – $1,000.
• Second place: Helping Paws Pet Haven, Inc. – $500.
• Bonus Draw: Huntington County Humane Society – $250.

The program received 102 nominations and over 36,000 votes overall for charitable organizations this year in one month of voting. The voting process took place during the month of July this year. The public was able to vote via social media, Beacon Credit Union’s website or in one of its 19 member centers.

A check presentation with the winning organizations took place on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Beacon’s Huntington Member Center, 136 Northpoint Ave., Huntington.
