Bringing historical fiction to life

Photo provided.

Fifth grades students at Roanoke Elementary School recently finished their Historical Fiction Projects.  Featured are (from left) Tyler Cassidy, Dawson Husband and Jaxton Buzzard holding their projects based on the books that they read. Cassidy read the book “Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall - The Diary of Bess Brennan” about the Perkins School for the Blind 1932. For his project, he made the Perkins School for the Blind. Husband read “I Survived the Eruption of Mount St. Helens 1980” and created a game for his project. Buzzard read “Runs with Horses” and created a scene from the book.
