Duke Energy has recently provided a $4,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County for their CRASH Course, said State Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington).

CRASH Course is a workforce development program that teaches middle and high school students how to fill out job applications, interview and dress suitably. The program also covers topics such as punctuality, attendance, good communication and being a team player.

“This program provides practical information and practices for the young Hoosiers in our community, which will not only help them grow professionally, but also prepare them for entering the workforce or college,” Zay said. “I thank Duke Energy for the generous donation and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the program.”

After completing the program, students are placed in internships, which often lead to paid employment with local businesses. For more information on the Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County, visit bgchunting
