Huntington plans fireworks show

The City of Huntington will celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday with community fireworks show at dusk on July 1.
The fireworks launch area will be Huntington University’s cross-country course. Viewing areas will be located adjacent to the launch site on the campuses of Parkview Huntington Hospital, the Huntington YMCA, and Crestview Middle School.

Parking along both sides of 500 N will be available starting at 6 p.m.
Huntington Police officers will direct traffic entering both directions on Stults road to help traffic flow steadily onto 500 N and ensure hospital access in the case of an emergency.

In the case of rain, the fireworks show will take place July 6.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering for firework clean up call 356-1400 ext. 2003.
Cleanup begins 8 a.m. the morning after the show and will take two to three hours depending on the number of volunteers.
