New ESA Scholarship program ready to launch

Indiana’s newest scholarship fund is ready to launch.

The Indiana Education Scholarship Account Program (ESA) will provide students with disabilities throughout the state of Indiana access to funds to set up an educational environment that best meets their learning needs.

The Indiana ESA program provides tax-free scholarship funds to eligible students for pre-approved education expenses such as tuition, therapies, assessments, and free-for-service transportation to spend with pre-approved educational service providers.

Funds are not counted as income for families of recipients and funds do not impact other forms of financial aid.
For the 2022-23 school year, the application window for eligible students in June 27 – Aug 5.

The ESA requirements are as follows:
• Be a resident of Indiana.
• Be between the ages of five and 22 years old.
• Require special education services and have an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Service Plan (SP), or Choice Special Education Plan (CSEP).
• And your annual income may not exceed 300% of the federal free and reduced lunch income qualification.
