The Huntington County Visitor Bureau and the Community Foundation of Huntington County have announced the next recipient of their "What Would YOU Do?" Place-making Grant.
The Awakening Church received $1,000 for a Helicopter Easter Egg Drop to be held on Saturday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at 235 Safari Trail, Huntington.
Approximately 15,000 plastic eggs will be dropped during the event.
The event is open to the public and includes games and activities, inflatables, and food for purchase in support of the Keystone Club, a teenage leadership club at the Parkview Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County.
The helicopter drop will occur at 3 p.m. and children, ages three - 12, will collect the eggs.
A separate play area with eggs will be available for children under three and another for children with sensory and/or mobility needs.
The eggs collected will be redeemed for prizes.
Pre-registration is suggested but not required to attend. Registration can be done online through the Awakening Facebook page.
“We are excited to be able to serve our community and provide a time of family fun!” said Jillian Fields, Event Coordinator.
