Students place in state Machine Trades Contest

Members of the Huntington North Vocational Machine Trades class recently participated in the 48th Annual Indiana Statewide Machines Trades Contest.

Brian Bogner, Tony Sitton, Michael Lewis and Austin Clark won awards in the event, held on Feb. 28 at Vincennes University.
Bogner placed second overall in the advanced division (second year students) and received scholarships and tools valued at $3,000.

In the beginning division (first-year students), Sitton placed fifth overall and received tools at a value of $700. Lewis placed second in CNC mill programming; first in the CNC written test and first overall in both categories. He received $700 worth of tools and
computer software.

Clark placed second in CNC lathe programming and received $150 in computer software.

As a team the group placed second overall and received a total of $4,550 of scholarships, tools and software.
